Safer Neighborhoods and Healthy Homes
- Limits evictions that don’t have a reason, so people can stay housed and not become homeless
- Renters will be able to make landlords fix bad living conditions
Keeps Our Communities Together
- Creates a rent board comprised of local residents, so landlords and tenants don’t have to spend time and money at court
- Landlords must notify renters of their rights in the language spoken by the resident
Predictable and Reasonable Rent Increases
- Sets default annual rent increases to 80% of inflation, for a max of 3% – currently state law sets a max of 10%, and not all rentals are covered!
- Resets base rent to January 1, 2026
