High rental housing costs make it increasingly difficult, if not impossible, for renter households in the City of Anaheim to become first-time homeowners. According to the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), Orange County has had its largest decrease in homeownership in the last decade.2 According to the 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year estimates, the City of Anaheim has a homeownership rate of just over forty-seven percent (47%), compared to a homeownership rate of over fifty-six percent (56%) in Orange County generally in 20243.
