Tenants United Anaheim (TUA) has positions on two of the statewide ballot measures for the November 2026 General Election. For information on the other items on the ballot, check out this guide from OCCORD.
Yes on Proposition 1
What it does
- $11.25B state bond to fund affordable housing, including $200M for CAPP, which would fund tenant co-operatives and community land trusts
Supporters
- Affordable housing developers, labor unions, the California Democratic Party, Governor Newsom
Opponents
- Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association
No on Proposition 43
What it does
- Prop 43 would impose a two-thirds requirement for all special local taxes on future ballot measures. A NO vote protects cities who want to pass local taxes to fund housing, schools, transit, and more with a 50+1% majority, not a ⅔ supermajority.
Supporters
- Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, big real estate firms, California Business Roundtable
Opponents
- Housing justice & affordable housing groups, labor unions, the League of California Cities, civil rights & environmental justice groups, and more
TUA has not yet endorsed any candidates.
